I, perhaps mistakenly, bought an AOC monitor for my Mac Mini that has the DVI/VGA port. The reason I bought the new monitor, is that my old monitor seemed to be going out on me. When I would start up the Mac or try to revive it from sleep mode, the monitor would blink a quick second of light, trying to light up, but would not light the screen. I found that by unplugging the monitor and replugging it in repeatedly, it would eventually fire up. This could take ten times for forty. Yesterday my new AOC monitor came and I used the same cord I was using on the new monitor. Initially it worked great. The new monitor came with a DVD. When I insert the DVD, it immediately ejects. I am running an older Mac System on this old mini mac. I think it is 10.5.6? It is not in front of me right now so I am not positive. At any rate, I can't recall what prompted me to shut it down and restart it, but when I did, the new monitor shows a 'no signal' message. Does this sound like there is something wrong with the mac? Or do I need a different type of cable?
